Fundraising Updates & Classes Launch in DC

Thank you to everyone who came out to support SWS in Dallas at the 16th Annual Crawfish Broil. We would like to take this space to thank Matt Ayres and Triple Threat Cowboy for again choosing Soldiers Who Salsa as the beneficiary. Despite the weather - tornado anyone? - we had a great afternoon and raised more than $4,000 to support our veterans nationwide.

On May 16 we held our annual San Diego fundraiser at the San Diego Woman's Club. Our attendees enjoyed cuban inspired food and cocktails, performances showcasing how the arts help our veterans, and a special guest speaker, along with a silent auction. This excellent event would not have been possible without the help of our wonderful volunteers from the Rotary Club of Naval Base San Diego or our event sponsor, SoCal Staging and Design. Due to their hard work and generosity, we were able to raise more than $6,000 to go towards our constantly expanding program base.

We are lauching our first program in Washington, D.C. at the VA Medical Center. There will be an informational meet and greet on Saturday, June 27. Anyone is welcome to attend to find out more about the classes and take a brief "intro to salsa" class. A 6 week class session will begin on Saturday, July 11.
